This circuit is a L6208 stepper motor controller. To build this circuit, we can implement slow decay. It allows  lower ripple, lower power dissipation and avoids voltages below GND at output pins during recirculation. Here is the circuit :

L6208 Stepper Motor Controller

Using component values on the schematic diagram of the circuit, the duty-cycle of this circuit is 63%, current ripple of this circuit is 29mA and the switching frequency is 25kHZ. This circuit uses 50V capacitor that allow voltage ripple of 200mV. This circuit also uses 0.5 Ohm sensing resistor because the reference voltage is 0.5V. The on-time of this circuit is 25µs and the off time is 16µs. [Source: STMicroelectronics Application Note]

  • Two Wires-Stepper Motor Controller
To get a position control that are low cost, accurate and simple we can use stepper motor. To drive it we can use a circuit mounted close to the motor, and to control it we can use remote control circuit via long cable. The power for both motor and the...
  • Stepper Motor Control, No Microcontroller Needed
Stepper motor is a simple way to make a motion control with high precision. A stepper motor control circuit is needed to make stepper motor works. A stepper motor controller usually use a microcontroller to make a complicated task. Some controller use stepper motor ic to simplify the circuit design. ...
  • Constant Speed PWM Motor Control
To make a constant speed motor control we can use Closed loop (servo) control. Constant speed motor is a motor that has constant speed although the load is change, indeed when the electric supply voltage is also changed. This circuit uses tachometer to sense the actual speed to maintain the...
  • Phase Synchronized – AC Power Controller
We can control the power delivered to an AC load using a phase control circuit. The AC waveform is controlled by the phase control  circuit by cutting the cycle to give  zero cycle, half cycle, full cycle, or somewhere in between. This circuit is looks like a dimmer circuit, but...
  • Compact Power Factor Controller
This is compact power factor controller circuit. It stabilizes device’s electrical demand to give best power factor characteristic of many types of loads. In many application, a direct rectification of the AC line followed by bulk capacitor filtering is used to get the high DC voltage. This capacitor filtering will...
